Ripple Prime and Institutional Integration with Wall Street

Ripple Prime has deepened its commercial relationship with Brevan Howard, a fund manager overseeing about $35 billion, by agreeing to provide multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing, and financing across traditional and digital markets. The October 6 announcements describe a unified platform that Brevan Howard’s funds can use across several asset classes and products, intended to simplify operations and improve capital efficiency. Brevan Howard Group COO Alan McGroarty said the growing connection between digital and traditional markets increases demand for institutional-quality digital asset infrastructure and that Ripple’s platform should provide increased operational ease and capital efficiency.

The expanded agreement builds on a prior financial link: funds managed by Brevan Howard affiliates participated in Ripple’s $500 million strategic investment in 2025. Ripple Prime traces its origins to Ripple’s acquisition of Hidden Road for $1.25 billion, a business that reportedly cleared more than $3 trillion annually and served over 300 institutional clients. Ripple has also expanded the brokerage’s capabilities with a Delta One offering for U.S.-listed equity total return swaps launched in August, and Ripple Prime completed a $275 million private placement of senior unsecured notes in August to support U.S. operations. The combined disclosures portray a strategic push by Ripple to move beyond crypto infrastructure toward a full-service institutional prime broker serving hedge funds, asset managers and other institutions.
